Ushering In The New Year With Clever Financing

It’s a new year, let alone a brand new decade.  There is still some uncertainty bound to come in our society including the financial world.  You have the option to stick to your old habits but it will be extremely useful in gathering all the information that could help you with your financial planning and withstand any storm that may pass.

To start the brand new year off, keep in mind or take note of any upcoming and foreseeable expenses that you are bound to expend on along the way.  This includes principal necessities as food and utilities and other extra expenditures such as credit card bills and loan payments.

Each household should do its own budgeting as it will somehow make it easier for you in dividing and allocating your funds to each of your expenses.  Plus, it could help you assess the use of your credit card and balance your use of it to drop your credit card bills every month.  Carefully reassessing your bank statement can also help reduce your credit card bills and help minimize your burden and even add to your savings.

It is also a good idea to switch to a different credit card that offers 0% annual percentage rate on the first year and some even offer a 13-15 month 0% rate.

Doing this can help you clear debt you incurred on your present credit card and you have a year or more to do so without having to be troubled about piling debt from interest rates with the new card you switched over.

You can search the internet for credit card companies that offer 0 percent transfer balance and interest rate.

Another way is to find ways to drive down home expenditures.  Proper energy consumption would reduce your monthly utility bills.  Electronic appliances and gadgets should be turned off and not be left on standby.  Standby mode is where an electronic appliance (e.g. TV, DVD player, microwave, etc.) is turned on but not running, regularly indicated with a red LED light.  Appliances on standby mode are said to use up to 5 watts per hour.  In total, you are probably paying an extra £100- £200 or more on your electric bill each year.  Chargers for cell phones, batteries should also be unplugged as soon as their juice is full.

Electric-saving products can trim down your energy consumption in a big way.  New fluorescent lightbulbs are designed to shine brighter, last longer and consume a small percentage of energy used by incandescent bulbs.

Having an electronic reader will also will show you your electric consumption and also helps in determining which electronic device is sucking up the most electricity.

Being sensible with your groceries can also save you a lot.  There are a lot of cheaper-priced brands out there that are as good as the popular and more costly ones.  If you are not certain which among them has the even quality as the brand you are used to, you can at all times purchase the smallest size and do a few product-testing and tell between each product’s quality.

Also, you can save a lot by looking for and using coupons found in magazines, newspaper, and the internet.

For more luxurious products such as cameras, shoes, TVs, and such, you can always obtain price cut by haggling.  If haggling won’t do, you can always wait for the sale  season which is bound to put a price cut on nearly every products.
