Greetings:
My name is Jason Forauer and I work with an NGO called ACDI/VOCA in Ethiopia. In response to a drought in the southern pastoral lowlands of the country, which killed a number of people, my organization started producing an early warning newsletter to help network information among different actors (NGOs, Ethiopian gov’t, donors etc) so that response to natural disasters could happen in a more timely and coordinated fashion.
To disseminate this newsletter , I opened an email account with Yahoo: acdivoca_pli_lm@yahoo.com. The pli stands for Pastoralist Livelihood Initiative and lm stands for Livestock Marketing. However, without warning or reason my account was closed and my contact list of 250+ recipients plus their responses to the newsletter, which is now focused on the flooding in Ethiopia, were lost.
I wrote customer service 3 times w/no response. I didn’t expect this sort of corporate indifference from Yahoo. Please examine these cases on merits.
